Every Saturday we meet to learn songs. This is a way to support Ceremonies and new singers are needed
We would like to state that we do not charge for our Ceremonies. There may be a suggested donation but we would never and we have never turned anyone away for the inability to donate. There are steps that often go unnoticed in the preparation for these ceremonies. In order to continue sharing these ancient ways, an exchange of energy is essential. Just as the Spirits understand this exchange, the people are gradually coming to know this to be the only way to move forward in their evolution. Regardless of what we have been told through the media, schools, government, and whatever else at this point in history, we are coming back to the Native Earth ways of giving and receiving. In our ceremonies people give in ways that are appropriate to the situation. Monetary donations are what help to pay for the medicines as well as other sacred foods used in ceremony. Other areas that monetary donations go to are things used for preparing the wood. We need to purchase chainsaws, gasoline and sometimes the wood itself. We travel to acquire stones for our sweat lodge. It requires time and energy to notify people of events, answer questions, and to help facilitate people’s healing during and after a ceremony. We must purchase material for tobacco ties, flags, sweat lodge coverings, blankets and rugs to stay warm, and even for wrapping sacred objects that are presented to people in ceremony. The amount of time and energy involved in preparing, running, and recovering from ceremonies must not be taken for granted. Preparing and holding the space for everyone in Ceremony and in our home so that everything flows and feels good is important in the overall experience. Some other forms of exchange include offerings such as sage, tobacco, copal, and sweet grass. There are so many wonderful ways to help. Wood donations, childcare, food preparation, and clean up duty are all factors that contribute to a positive exchange that benefits all. In these Ceremonies, the level of transformation and healing one undergoes is a direct reflection of the energy that one puts into it. We are consciously co-creating our new world.
Helpful Gifts
It is our tradition when attending our sweat lodge to bring tobacco to the person pouring water. These are best if they are presented in a sealed, unopened container.
